海廢、蘑菇與捕魚燈
海廢、蘑菇與捕魚燈,是拍攝《七個在海上的人:樹》時的道具。
錄像《七個在海上的人:樹》現在正於新北市美術館聯展「棉線與石頭」展出,轉述何應渡海偷渡途中,療癒自我的白日清醒夢。何應青少年時期與朋友從中國廣東偷渡到香港。他們每天勤練游泳,自建舢舨船,但出海不久船身便不敵大浪翻覆,他目睹體力不支力竭而亡的同伴,而他與其餘同伴則幸運地爬上一座小沙洲島,他們爬上島上僅有的一棵樹,昏沈之下,奮力啃食殆盡樹上每一片樹葉和果實,一行人緊接著泳渡大海,登陸大嶼山,奪回他們的香港夢。

Marine Debris, Mushrooms, and Fishing Lamps
Marine Debris, Mushrooms, and Fishing Lamps are props used in the filming of Seven People Crossing the Sea: Tree.
The video Seven People Crossing the Sea: Tree is currently on view in the group exhibition Of Thread and Stone at the New Taipei City Art Museum. The work recounts Ho Ying's lucid waking dream of self-healing during his clandestine sea crossing. As a teenager, Ho Ying and his friends attempted to cross from Guangdong, China, to Hong Kong. They practiced swimming every day and built their own sampan boat. Yet soon after setting out to sea, the boat was overwhelmed by large waves and capsized. He witnessed one of his companions, exhausted and unable to continue, die before his eyes. Ho Ying and the remaining survivors were fortunate enough to climb onto a small sandbar island. There, they climbed the island’s only tree and, in a dazed state, desperately ate every leaf and fruit it bore. The group then continued by swimming across the sea, eventually landing on Lantau Island and reclaiming their Hong Kong dream.

黃博志的創作多從個人家庭故事和地方歷史出發,以多元的藝術實踐探討農業、製造業、生產、消費等當代社會議題。2013年出版散文集《藍色皮膚:老媽的故事》,透過記錄自己的母親,一個平凡個體的職業流變,間接反映出臺灣成衣產業的變遷。
Huang Po-chih’s practice often begins with personal family stories and local histories. Working across diverse artistic forms, he explores contemporary social issues related to agriculture, manufacturing, production, and consumption. In 2013, he published the essay collection The Blue Skin: My Mother’s Story, which traces the occupational shifts of his mother, an ordinary individual, while indirectly reflecting the transformation of Taiwan’s garment industry.
